PASADENA... part 3
(griffin's 2011 BotCon report)

FRIDAY MAY 27TH

We had to be up by 7.30am, which wasn't a problem since I'd been up since 4.
First thing though, our free buffet breakfast... a hotel that was at the same standard as the BotCon hotel at Pasadena but with free breakfast and internet, for the same price as the BotCon discount rate (so it was a lot less than the standard rate). Admittedly, location has a factor to play in the rate, but for a room that you aren't meant to spend much time in while awake, the cheaper the better.
The food they had available for breakfast included - eggs, bacon, cereal, waffle irons (to make your own waffles), fruit, bagels, muffins, yogurt, and various hot and cold beverages. Mmmmm...
Back at the room, we each got ready, showering and changing... (lucky the hotel has those little soaps, because guess what was the only thing I forgot to pack this year).

We aimed for a 9.30 departure, but got away about quarter past ten, for our first big tourist stop for the trip... Legoland.

The main entrance.

We spent about 6 hours there, the four of us, going through as much as we had time for, before it started closing up.

This was the one time I was actually glad I had long hair this year, as it prevented my neck from getting burnt, while the hat I wore to hold it all back, prevented my face from getting burnt. Last year I got pretty red from the days I was out in Florida Disney, so this year I was actually surprised that my arms were the only parts red at the end of the day.
